St. Lawrence Market is a popular destination for grocery shopping. To introduce you to the Market fare and help you navigate the many specialty vendors like a seasoned shopper, the Market hosts a weekly Food Tasting and History Show. Every Saturday, a vendor will showcase a food or product that is available in the market place. Taste a variety of new and different foods, receive recipes and ask your questions about the featured fare. Did you know that Toronto’s original City Hall is part of the South Market? Find out where the Council Chamber, the only remaining section of the original City Hall (1845 to 1899), is located. Local historian Bruce Bell will share this historical fact and other interesting details on St. Lawrence Market and Old Town Toronto, as part of the show. |
